Updates and Events
I have started posting the week's upcoming events in the WNC Peace Coalition blog. There is a list of events and actions that may be of interest to activists in the area..... or visiting activists.
This is another picture of Rusul. It is clear that she is a beautiful child. We have been informed that she will have her right foot amputated on Thursday at Shriner's hospital in Greenville. She is taking it in stride, from what I have heard. She will be in a wheelchair for awhile after her surgery.
Our theme has been "A Rose for Rusul" so we had lots of roses there for her when she arrived at the airport. Here is a link to some more photos that I took, and here is a link to Naomi Johnson's photos (which are much better than mine!). And here is a link to a news video of her arrival. The name "Rusul" is a masculine name and means "messenger" - or so I have been told.
Please keep little Rusul in your thoughts and prayers this week, as she faces surgery.
