It is an honor to serve as your Unites States Senator, and I appreciate your patience as I transition into this new role. I sincerely hope you will not hesitate to contact me at any time to share your concerns and voice your opinions on our country's most pressing issues.
Yours truly,
Kay R. Hagan

Interesting choice of email address - like she is sending the message that there will be "no reply" to your concerns. I think I will call her Senator No Reply. And no, I do not know why she would be calling me "friend".
