This happened on July 4, 2013. I was on the way to a friend's house for a July 4th party. When I left my home in east Asheville, it was just sprinkling. When I got to Patton Avenue, the water was about 10-12 deep on the road and I knew I could not continue up to Leicester and up some mountain to a friend's home. Instead, I had to go home. That was the day I realized that global warming would just be terrifying.
