The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe opposes the pipeline because it presents a threat to our lands, sacred sites, and water. Dogwood Alliance stands in solidarity with Standing Rock. We recognize the rights and sovereignty of the Standing Rock Sioux, accorded by the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868. The people at Standing Rock have been incorrectly labelled as "protesters" when, in reality, they are exercising their constitutional right to peacefully stand up, and this has been unjustly met by a militarized police force. We need to defend water and indigenous rights just like we defend forests. Join the Protectors and reject the Dakota Access Pipeline.
