Email to Rep. Shuler
The budget proposed by Mr. Bush is excessive on military spending and very
meager on spending for peace or to meet human needs. The amount spend on
military spending is a HUGE increase.
This is beyond ridiculous. We are waging a war and occupation in Iraq
simply for the control of their oil. This is immoral. We are waging a
war and occupation in Afghanistan that is going very badly and is
resulting in the return of the Taliban.
We have got to start finding ways to negotiate settlements with foreign
governments, because there is NO military solutions to either of these two
occupations.
Some people seem to think that we can kill off an "X" number of al Qaeda
members and then we will be safe. This is false. The more we kill people
the more enemies we grow.
To continue on this path is foolish, expensive, and very evil.
