executive director of Blue Ridge Sustainable Institute. Tim is a native of Asheville. During his
senior year at Ohio's Oberlin College,
while heading up the EDGE Fund he helped to create (energy efficient revolving
loan funds , Tim began working on an Honors Thesis with David W. Orr, an
internationally renowned environmental educator. Tim has also spent time with
the Environmental Defense Fund working to establish national climate change
legislation.

Free art supplies plus three $50 cash prizes will be awarded
to promote Peace Day. Peace Day organizing party will be held on September 3 at
7 PM to 9 PM at Firestorm Cafe & Books in downtown Asheville. Art and poster-making supplies
provided by Asheville's own Dog Tag Art

in what ways we might make #PeaceDay a trending topic on Twitter, and other
ways we might celebrate awareness of Peace Day activities in Asheville, North Carolina

awarded to Ashevillains ready to promote Peace Day. At 8:30 we are asking what

“Labor by Choice” is an educational fundraising event for
FemCare, with Patsy Keever, Howard Hanger, Dr. Lori Horvitz, and Dr. Alice
Weldon as speakers. On July 31st FEMCARE, the abortion clinic in Asheville, NC,
received a temporary license suspension. The clinic has served the community
providing compassionate high quality care for patients since 1985. This will be
held at the Millroom located at 66
Asheland Avenue in Asheville. Doors open at 6:00 PM. This event
will include a silent auction, speakers, some short film screenings regarding
abortion issues, music, cash bar, and a good time for a good cause. Suggested
Donation is $15.

Rev. Barber announced (along with NAACP attorney Jamie
Phillips) that the NAACP had established a new toll-free hotline that North Carolinians can call with concerns about voting and
voting rights. The number is 1-855-664-3487 (i.e. 1-855-NO ID 4 US). Phillips
said the number would be staffed with live NAACP members who would connect
callers and/or relay their concerns to voting rights experts.
