Today, we remember

Today, I went at 5 PM to the Flint Street bridge to hold up the HONK TO IMPEACH sign – Clare joined me, and we got lots of honks. Then I went downtown at 6 PM to hand out fliers after the SiCKO move from Progressive Democrats of America. Along the way, I left fliers on cars parked on the street. Then I went to a local college for a talk by Dr. Bob Bowman. This was sponsored by Vets for Peace. He talked about the need to impeach. I took my clipboard to get people to sign to impeach to this event, and collected some signatures. But, I had to leave early, for the main event of the day – a remembrance of the victims of the bombing of Hiroshima back in 1945. I was the one responsible for getting this event off the ground.

The picture above came from that event. We set out candle luminaries, held up some signs and talked with one another and those who stopped by, about all the various issues facing the world today, not the least of which is our country’s policies. But mostly, we remembered the victims of this bombing, and prayed for a world where nuclear bombs do not exist at all.

On Thursday evening, we will do this again. We will remember the victims of the bombing of Nagasaki.
