Letter to NC Senator

On Dec 31, 2016, at 5 PM, dancewater wrote to NC Senator Terry Van Duyn:

As a constituent I urge you to join state legislators and governors from around the United States and issue a public statement opposing a Muslim registry and mass deportations. Please let me know that you have done so. Thank you.

Senator Van Duyn’s response:
Discrimination of this kind is clearly unconstitutional and morally repugnant to me, and is certainly NOT what the people of Buncombe County sent me to Raleigh to do.  I will not hesitate to stand against any such legislation.

Thank you for your advocacy on this very important issue.  It defines who we are as Americans.

Very sincerely,
Terry Van Duyn

Excellent response!
