Our military and the climate

Major General Rick Devereaux offered four caveats to be aware of when talking about climate and national security. Here is one of them: “Our military is not interested in taking the lead in solving the problem of global climate change.” They may be taking steps that are green, but their mission isn’t to fix climate change.

(The above information came from an email by Asheville Citizen's Climate Lobby. They are busy pursuing getting carbon tax and dividend passed in the US Congress, although there is no indication that such legislation will reduce carbon.)

My response to Devereaux:

Actually, our military is taking the lead in being the biggest polluter on the planet and also taking the lead in being the single biggest contributor to carbon emissions. They are quite good at destroying the planet and have been doing just that for many decades now. They FOR SURE are not going to do anything to solve the problem of global climate change. You can count on that.
