Most of the world's opium comes from Afghanistan. Prior to the US invasion and occupation, the Taliban regime had nearly wiped out opium. More of the country is under Taliban control now than in 2001. This has been a total failure no matter which way you look at it or how you want to measure it. Which is what I said would happen back in October 2001.
