Letters

Letters I sent to my US Senators via FCNL webpage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Senator Burr:
Thank you for not cosponsoring S. 1881, the Menendez-Kirk-Schumer sanctions legislation against Iran. As a recent U.S. Intelligence Community assessment warned, "new sanctions would undermine the prospects for a successful comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran." I hope you will continue to oppose this legislation and vote "no" when it comes to a vote in the Senate.
Please speak out publicly against S. 1881 to encourage your colleagues to oppose the bill as well. As the White House, ten Senate committee chairs and a bipartisan group of national security experts have warned, this sanctions bill could scuttle the best opportunity the United States has had to resolve the standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
I look forward to hearing from you about your commitment to support diplomacy, not war, with Iran.
To Senator Hagan:
I'm disappointed that you cosponsored S. 1881, the Menendez-Kirk-Schumer sanctions legislation against Iran. As a recent U.S. Intelligence Community assessment warned, "new sanctions would undermine the prospects for a successful comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran." I hope you will reconsider and vote "no" on this legislation when it comes to a vote.
As the White House, ten Senate committee chairs and a bipartisan group of national security experts have warned, this sanctions bill could scuttle the best opportunity the United States has had to resolve the standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
I look forward to hearing your response on what you will do to support diplomacy, not war, with Iran.
