I have known about Raed Jarrar for years. He is an Iraqi and I got to know him (and his mother and brothers) from the blogging that they did. They are wonderful people, and Raed is now an American citizen, and his family is living in various countries - his mother is in Jordan. I have corresponded with Raed and his mother and brother over the years and I was really glad to meet Raed in person. I have brought Faiza (his mother) to Asheville to give talks.
