Kudos to Amy and her amazing staff at Democracy Now! Amy is the first journalist to receive the Right Livelihood Award, which is the world’s premier award for personal courage and social transformation. This prize is also known as the ‘alternative nobel’. She will receive this award in December. It comes from the Swedish Parliament. Amy Goodman and her staff at Democracy Now are all heroes of mine.
It is a great thing for her to be given this award, and she and her staff really do deserve it! Congratulations to Democracy Now!
Well, gotta go and finish listening to today's program on Democracy Now - I listen to them every day of the week - sometimes catching up on weekends. It is easier to do now that I have an Ipod and can download their podcasts.
