Bush in 2007:
“But here's my point: Either they knew or didn't know, and what matters is, is that they're there. What's worse, that the government knew or that the government didn't know?”
Hey, you tell me – which is worse – a government that knew what was going on in Abu Ghraib or a government that didn’t know what it’s military was doing? A government that didn’t know that terrorists were going to strike us, or a government that knew, but did nothing? A government that knew it was starting up a war of aggression based on a pack of lies, or a government that is so blasted stupid that it believed the lies? Since Bush was selected for office, we have had the following MASSIVE intelligence failures – or maybe they are just MASSIVE efforts at pretending “not to know” what was really going on.
1. terrorist attack of 9/11 on NYC and DC, also anthrax attacks
2. unable to capture and arrest bin Laden
3. false claims of WMDs in
4. no post-invasion plans in
5. torture by US military and CIA
6. kidnapping by US military and CIA
7. destroying infrastructure in
8. not stopping death squads in
9. allowing genocide in occupied
10. spreading depleted uranium all over
"To initiate a war of aggression . . . is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime, differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." -
And when we violated the Nuremberg principles, we violated our own US Constitution.
