03/14/08 Movie night at Unitarian Universalist Church at 7 PM. They will be showing “Caught in the Crossfire” a short film about Fallujah, then we will show two short films from No More Victims. A speaker from No More Victims will talk about their projects to help Iraqi children and what we are planning to do here in Asheville. Free, donations accepted. 03/15/08 “From the Ground to the Plate” the first annual African American food security forum will be held at Stephens Lee Auditorium from 3 to 5 PM. This is hosted by the Shilooh Community Association, the Bountiful Cities Project and the City of Asheville. The focus of the discussion will be about food availability and quality, growing food, and the connection between health and diet. The discussion will include what it means to grow your own food to increase your self-sufficiency, and the role community gardening can play in supporting food security.
