UN Forces Kill Children

“United Nations military operations continued in Haiti today amid new reports of fatalities of unarmed civilians. HIP received early reports of a UN raid at 1:00 AM EST today to ostensibly remove "armed bandits and gangs" from the seaside shanty town of Cite Soleil.”

The story goes on to report that the children were killed, and the parents injured, by gunfire reportedly from a UN armored personnel vehicle. The children were sleeping in their beds when this happened on February 2, 2007. One child was four and the other was seven years old. A spontaneous demonstration was held the day this happened, but it was broken up by tear gas and shooting by UN forces. Several reports of UN forces killing unarmed civilians have been surfacing lately, including a report of a nine year old boy and a seventeen year old boy being shot on January 20, 2007.
